2025 THE SUMMIT

SESSION OVERVIEW

This is just a glimpse of the 2.5 days of top tier content you'll experience at The Summit 2025. We'll be releasing the detailed agenda as the event gets closer but the sessions described below on their own make the whole event worth it!

Tax Planning: The ULTIMATE value add

Presented by Steven Jarvis, CPA, this session will kick off the whole event and go deep on why clients and prospects are demanding that financial advisors get involved in tax planning. It used to be a “nice to have” but is quickly becoming the expectation, so great advisors need to be ready to deliver value on this ever-present topic.

Tax Law Changes Under the Trump Administration

Joining The Summit for the first time, tax legend Jeffrey Levine will give us the latest on the tax law changes and what they will mean for your clients moving forward. Two weeks into the new administration, executive orders, and proposed bills are flying everywhere, and this session will help you stay in front of it all so your clients aren’t navigating the “fun” of tax law changes alone.

Secure 2.0: Yes, it’s still being implemented in 2025

Another newcomer to The Summit but not the tax world of financial advisors; this session will be led by Sarah Brenner, a standout speaker from the Ed Slott and company. Secure 2.0 might feel like old news since it no longer tops the headlines, but there are still new provisions coming into play in 2025 and old provisions that still haven’t been fully explored or implemented.

Practice Numbers and Fishing Stories: Where Else are you lying to yourself

By popular demand, The Summit will expand this year to include practice management topics led by Micah Shilanski and Matthew Jarvis of The Perfect RIA. In classic TPR style, this session will shine a light on what’s really happening in your practice compared to the stories you are telling yourself about your practice (we’re all guilty of it). Don’t worry, this isn’t about beating anyone down, it’s about recognizing the starting point so you can implement the best practices they share throughout the conference to grow your practice to new heights.

Recruiting & Retention

The best work gets done when you have a great team behind you, and that’s where Amy Kizer from TalentLink Solutions comes in. In this session, Amy will cover two vital topics for every employer: 1) The who, what, when, where, why, and how of recruiting and hiring, and 2) How to level up your employees so they get the best and give the best to you, your firm and your clients.

Taxes and selling your practice

Tax planning is not just for your clients, which is why we’ve invited Ted Jenkin of JPTD partners to come and teach us all about the tax implications of selling your practice and what you can do to plan ahead. Whether selling is in your short-term plan or nowhere on your radar, NOW is the best time to clean things up and make sure you are setting yourself up for success when that day eventually comes. Ted has been through a business sale himself and has helped countless other business owners and financial advisors successfully navigate that transition as well.

Recycling old annuities and insurance policies

Love them or hate them, annuities and insurance are a part of life when it comes to financial planning. Just like taxes, there are advisors who turn a blind eye to the topic and hope it will go away, and then there are great advisors who understand their clients options and how to navigate this topic. Brian Smith from Foundational Income Associates is an expert in this area with decades of experience working with financial advisors to create great client outcomes (including some of the advisors who will be on our stage). And in the true spirit of The Summit Brian will cover tax implications of helping your clients out of or into various opportunities.
